The weekend saw the rather unsettling case of a missing lady, Iniobong Umoren, who was later discovered to have been murdered. Miss Ini was a young graduate awaiting NYSC.
Miss Iniobong who was last seen and heard from on the 29th of April, had been lured to Akwa Ibom by a certain Uduak Frank Akpan, for an alleged job interview.
Miss Ini had made a distress call to a friend, Happiness, who alerted the police but was told to wait for 48 hours as is the standard before declaring an individual missing.
On the 2nd of May, Happiness revealed that Ini was raped and murdered by her abductor.
This bit of disheartening news has caused reactions on social media, with a host of celebrities expressing their grief, Don Jazzy and Korede Bello are amongst the celebs to react.
“Psychopaths just making it hard for people to live in peace. From shameless leaders to disgusting child molesters to just random sick fucks raping and murdering innocent girls” Don Jazzy tweeted.
Korede Bello had this to say: “Words cannot capture the sense of grief that this incident has caused. We must have a society that adequately protects our women from dangers of this nature. This is a very sad situatioN”
