Pep Guardiola claims that if Manchester City does not win the Champions League during his tenure as manager, he would be considered a disappointment.
City will travel to Borussia Dortmund for the second leg of their quarter-final tie on Wednesday with a 2-1 aggregate advantage.
Under Guardiola, they have never advanced beyond the quarterfinals, losing in the last eight in each of the last three seasons.
“I know I’ll be a loser if we don’t win, and if we do, it’ll be ‘how good is Pep?’” Guardiola said.
The absence of Dortmund’s Jadon Sancho from the second leg helps their cause, as the England and ex-City forward is still recovering from the thigh injury that kept him out of the first leg.
